Awards to recognize journalists' contribution to combating climate change

At the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen (COP15) in December, seven Earth Journalism awards will be presented to the authors of stories on isses relating to climate change.

The awards competition, which closed September 7, brought over 900 applicants from 148 countries. Dr. Rajendra Pachauri, the Indian climate change scientist who shared the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize with former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, is scheduled to co-host the ceremony.

The award ceremony is being organized by Internews.
