Porque en esta Profesión la confianza es esencial y uno aprende que en el Periodismo no hay fronteras, alguna vez ellos han estado en nuestra posición. Nosotros haríamos lo mismo por ellos, si se dieran las circunstancias.

The local guys should be getting the credit and reward for the story. I once worked with a "famous Vietnam war reporter" during the turmoil of the late eighties and early nineties in South Africa who sat in his office all day relying on others to be out in the field and feed him information or sometimes he simply plagiarised other reports.

Los que hemos tenido la oportunidad de ser corresponsales extranjeros, nos sentimos orgullosos de poder trasmitir nuestra realidad desde nuestro punto de vista a las grandes ciudades. Es cierto que el dinero cuenta pues generalmente los pagos por entrega son de importancia por su alto monto. Pero en muchas ocasiones se trata de una distincion profesional que uno siente y eso impulsa al periodista ha tratar de quedar lo mejor posible en sus coberturas.

Creo que los periodistas y traductores locales siguen trabajando para los medios extranjeros por compromiso con su país, buscando denunciar y mostrar los problemas o conflictos con toda su complejidad y dejar de lado los maniqueísmos y las simplificaciones a la hora de informar. También pienso que cuenta el reconocimiento y prestigio que puede dar el trabajar con un medio extranjero y la mejor remuneración económica. Sin embargo, para el medio extranjero tiene más valor el periodista extranjero que el periodista o intérprete local, que, ninfortunadamente, se encuentra más expuesto frente al peligro.

У каждого человека своя работа, когда ты ее делаешь, то стараешься быть лучшим - водитель грузовика, пилот самолета, матрос на судне, шахтер тоже рискуют жизнью, погибают. Я уже не говорю о военных и полицейских. Действительно профессия опасная и нелегкая, но она не единственная такая. Почему люди рискуют жизнью ради работы? А как можно иначе? Другие сделают твою работу, получат деньги, реализуют себя, пока ты будешь сидеть дома и размышлять, что ты скажешь своим детям.

I think local reporter and translator do this to seek the truth and to help the foreign journalist get the story accurately. It is difficult for foreign journalist who can't speak local language to get the fact in the field. It is more easy to get in touch with local people if the foreign journalist accompanying by local reporter or interpreter. Besides, they seek the money as a second choice.

یکی از خطراتی که فیکسر ها را تهدید می کند دولت ها هستند. بعضی از دولت ها از فیکسرها توقع جاسوسی دارند و اگر همکاری نکنند خودشان به جرم جاسوسی دچار مشکل می شوند.

در مناطق بحرانی جان همه در خطر است. ممکن بود به جای خبرنگار افغان جان خبرنگار انگلیسی گرفته می شد. شجاعت روزنامه نگاران جنگی اعم از خارجی و محلی قابل تقدیر است.

من با نظر دوست مان که نوشته، ممکن بود به جای خبرنگارافغان جان خبرنگارانگلیسی گرفته می شد، موافق نیستم. اما بدون شک افرادی که درمناطق بحرانی وجنگی فعالیت دارند، همت وکارشان قابل قدراست.
درافغانستان به دلایل مختلف برای یک خبرنگارمحلی یا خبرنگارافغان ممکن نیست که پیش شرط تعیین کند. ازسویی هم خبرنگاران افغان، تا جایی که من می دانم وخود یکی از آنها هستم،هیچگونه پشتوانه دولتی ویا غیردولتی ندارد. البته درکشوری که هیچ تضمینی برای هیچ شهروند آن وجود ندارد این خیلی طبیعی است.
اما، روزنامه نگاران خارجی، چرا از پشتوانه نظامی گرفته تا پشتوانه سیاسی ومالی وهرنوع پشتوانه ی دیگربرخورد دارند. چنانچه درقضیه اجمل نقشبندی هم همه شاهد هستیم که روزنامه نگار"مشکوک" ایتالیایی باپول گزاف ومعامله آزاد شد ولی اجمل نقشبندی چون ازاسرارهای زیادی باخبربود کشته شد.
من می خواهم یک سوال دیگرمطرح کنم که این روزنامه نگاران شجاع خارجی درحالی که درداخل شهرها با گاردها گشت وگذارمی کنند چگونه می توانند به همین سادگی وارد مناطقی شوندکه برای یک شهروند عادی افغان غیرممکن است؟ آیا این ها توسط وزارت های امورخارجه چند کشورویا شبکه های خاص دیگر پیشاپیش سازماندهی نمی شود؟
چگونه ممکن است طالبانی ویا جنگجویانی که مذاکره با دولت افغانستان را بیرون شدن خارجی ها اعلام می کنند، بعد شهروند افغانستان را می کشند وشهروندان خارجی را آزاد می کنند؟
یا این که روزنامه نگاران خارجی دربدل اطلاعات شان با طالبان معامله می کنند؟ این اطلاعات برای که دررسانه ها ما داریم ( یا چیزبیشترآن نشرنمی شود) چقدرارزش مالی وجانی دارد؟
