Print and online journalists from select countries in the developing world can apply for the 2010 Alfred Friendly Press Fellowships, an annual fellowship that brings journalists to American newsrooms. Deadline: August 1.
These fellowships, given in honor of Daniel Pearl, are open to Muslim journalists from Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, UAE and Yemen.
Among the goals of the fellowship are to:
The Fellowship covers all costs of program-related international and domestic travel, health insurance and provides a monthly stipend to cover basic living expenses.
Applicants must have at least three years' professional experience, current full-time employment as a journalist, be between 25 and 35 and have a good level of spoken and written English.

Dear, organizers this is good for we Muslims.
But why age limit?
why no one from Africa? however, I would like to attend
Anyway its a good move but why is it that you are targetting muslim journalists just in few countries. Why not include some of us too. Is it because we are/not extremist?
Its sad to know that India has not been included for this fellowship.
