Russian competition seeking works on machine building
Posted on: 29/01/2010 Fellowships and Awards, Specialized Reporting Country: RussiaA competition in Russia is seeking articles about machine building, with the goal of attracting attention to the industry.
Potential entry topics include: machine building, joint ventures in the industry, new inventions and other topics. Russian and international media are welcome to apply.
Entries must have been published between January 1 and August 30, 2010.
The competition is supported by the Union of Journalists of Russia and the Union of Machine Builders. Winners will be awarded cash prizes.

Asia and the Pacific, Eastern Europe-Central Eurasia, Latin America, Middle East and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Worldwide - BBC is seeking short (no longer than 2 minutes) documentary video entries about "how you see the world." Deadline: March 12. Applicants can use any type of camera, including a mobile phone, a point-and-click, or a friend's camcorder. Entries must be sent in any of the following formats: avi, mov, wmv, mp4, mpg, flv, 3gp, wav, mp3 or wma.
- Competition in Russia honors the anniversary of the end of Great Patriotic War

- Young writers -- from middle school to university students -- and writers in the general public are invited to submit entries to a competition devoted to victory in the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945). Deadline: March 15, 2010. The competition aims to create the national electronic Book of Memory.
