UNESCO launches world press freedom prize 2010
Posted on: 14/01/2010 Fellowships and Awards, Press Freedom Deadline: 15/02/2010 Region: WorldwideJournalists who have made a notable contribution to the defense of press freedom anywhere in the world can be nominated for the 2010 UNESCO/Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize. Deadline: February 15, 2010.
Awarded annually, the prize is marked by a ceremony and the winner will be presented with US$25,000.
Professional and non-governmental organizations working in the field of journalism and freedom of expression can nominate candidates and provide information on how they have contributed to the promotion of freedom of information over the years.
The prize, named in honor of Guillermo Cano Isaza, a Columbian journalist who was killed while reporting in 1986, will be presented on May 3 in Australia, during the World Press Freedom Day conference.

Latin America - With the goal of promoting radio programming in Ibero-American countries, the Margarita Xirgu contest will award the best radio fiction piece in the region. Deadline: March 18. According to Casa América, contestants must submit new works in Spanish; works should not have been committed to appear on radio or TV stations, or any editorial, theatrical, film or news organization.

Asia and the Pacific, Eastern Europe-Central Eurasia, Latin America, Middle East and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Worldwide - The International Institute for Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) will hold their third global online course in ICT journalism from April 20 to June 20. All interested are welcome to apply. Registration deadline: March 20. Among the topics to be covered in the course: ICT theory and concept, the impact of ICT on journalism, and how to use ICT.

- This looks like a great opportunity for young journalists, I couldn't be more happier about this kind of events, we need quality talented people online. Article writing is a job with great future, I think that's what makes young journalists so interested in it and another reason would be the field of possibilities, once you're in article writing industry you don't have to search too long for opportunities. لطفا تم ارسال تقرير صحفي استقصائي وتطلب هذا العمل التحقيق السري لاجل قطعة ارض تابعه لوزارة التربيه في العراق تنتج اكثر من 4000000 مليون دينار سنويا سيتم تنفيذ مشروع استثماري عليها وهو اصلا مشروع خاص بالطلاب لغرض اعانتهم في المستقبل قد تستفيد الحكومه العراقيه من تشغيل العاطلين في هذا المشروع بدل من استثماره لاحدى الشركات فكيف تم بيع القطعه هذا ما يصبوا اليه التقرير بواقع صفحه واحده على جريده اسمها لا ولكنها مدعومه من هيئة النزاهه وسيتم نشر التقرير يوم 28/11/2009
